Support

Help using Pharune, and what to do if you think you’ve been targeted by a scam.

Already sent money or shared bank details? Call your bank straight away. You may be able to get your money back. Use 159, or the number on the back of your card. Then report it to Report Fraud (formerly Action Fraud) on 0300 123 2040. In Scotland, call Police Scotland on 101.

Using Pharune

How do I check a message?

Open Pharune and paste the message, link or phone number into the box, then tap Check it. You can also tap Scan a screenshot to pick a screenshot from your photos, or Photograph a letter or screen.

What do Low, Suspicious and High risk mean?

High risk: strong signs of a scam. Don’t click, reply or pay. Suspicious: some warning signs, so check carefully before doing anything. Low risk: no strong scam signs were found. That doesn’t mean the message is definitely genuine. If in doubt, check with the organisation directly.

Pharune got it wrong. What should I do?

On the result, tap 👎 No and choose what it really was. Your email app opens a draft to us with the message text (never your screenshot). Read it, remove anything personal, and send it if you’re happy. It helps us improve.

What is a trusted contact?

Someone you trust, like a son, daughter or friend. Add them in Help → Trusted contact. When a message looks suspicious, you can send it to them in one tap through WhatsApp or Messages. Pharune never contacts them by itself.

How do I create an evidence report?

Open a result and tap Create evidence report (PDF). Add any reference numbers if you like, then share or save the PDF. It includes the message, the warning signs and (if you keep screenshots) the original screenshot.

Does Pharune upload my messages or screenshots?

No. Checks happen on your phone. Your history is stored only on your phone, and you can clear it at any time. See our privacy policy.

How do I delete my history or saved screenshots?

History tab → Clear history. Saved screenshots only: Help → Settings → Delete saved screenshots. To stop keeping screenshots, turn off Keep screenshots with history.

Where to report scams in the UK

Five golden rules

  1. Don’t tap links or call numbers in a suspicious message. Open the official app or type the website address yourself.
  2. Your bank, HMRC or the police will never ask you to move money to a “safe account”.
  3. Never share one-time passcodes, PINs or passwords, not even with someone claiming to be your bank.
  4. If someone pressures you to act fast, stop. A real organisation will wait.
  5. Got a “Hi Mum” message from a new number? Call your child on their old number first.

Still need help?

Email support@pharune.com. We’re a small team, so please allow a few days for a reply. We can’t investigate scams or recover money. For that, contact your bank and Report Fraud.
